A. Students are able to evaluate critically, reflect, and problem-solve individually as well as collaboratively.

LIS 6409 Group Project Proposal Assignment demonstrates my ability to critically evaluate community needs and collaborate on a shared solution. I organized the group, created a GroupMe for communication, and contributed the problem, solution, and required resources sections. I also assisted with editing, formatting, and revisions. This project is an example of my skills in teamwork, initiative, and applying problem-solving strategies to develop practical, community-centered library services. (PDF Version)

B. Students demonstrate effective communication skills.

LIS 6445 Advocacy Letter Assignment is an example of my ability to communicate the value of library services to a broad public audience. In it, I crafted a persuasive letter to the editor that shows the importance of public libraries in advancing education, economic opportunity, digital access, and community engagement. This piece demonstrates my skill in tailoring messaging to a general audience, using clear and compelling language, and advocating for sustained library support. LIS 5020 Connecting Services to Values: Whiteboard Communication shows my understanding of effective workplace communication in library settings. In the assignment, I analyzed how a staff communication whiteboard supports coordination, teamwork, and daily operations of the St. Petersburg West Community Library. It demonstrates how library practices connect to professional values, and how effective communication improves both staff collaboration and patron service. (PDF Version)

C. Students participate in professional and community engagement activities in the field.

My posts online show my ability to engage the local community through sharing PPLC monthly program guides, and my post on the services and resources offered by the St. Petersburg Library System reached over 80,000 people, promoting community awareness, encouraging participation, and supporting public engagement with library services.

Furthermore, in May, 2026 I participated in professional engagement by attending the Florida Library Association’s Annual Conference in Orlando. There, I learned about current trends in librarianship, participated in professional development sessions, and connected with library professionals from across the state. It was an experience that strengthened my understanding of community engagement, accessibility in libraries, innovative library services, and the evolving role of libraries.












D. Students demonstrate leadership skills and innovation in a diverse and global environment.

By creating a complete email marketing campaign from ideation to implementation to succession, I have demonstrated leadership and innovation. This project involved planning content, designing messages for different audiences, organizing campaign schedules, and analyzing engagement strategies. Through this experience, I strengthened my ability to manage projects independently, work with others, communicate clearly with different audiences, and create digital solutions that support organizational goals in a global and technology-driven environment.

Another way I’ve demonstrated leadership skills is by creating and managing GroupMe chats for my courses to improve communication, collaboration, and peer support among students. This demonstrates my initiative and ability to use digital communication tools to foster inclusive and effective information sharing.
